Cost of Equipment

So, I totaled the cost of equipment from Welch Allyn, with my student discount:  http://www.pamelajeanwhiteley.com/WelchAllyn.pdf

It's almost $1150, not including tax and shipping.  I wonder if we get any better discounts if we wait until Welch Allyn sends a representative to our school?

Yes, we do get discounts.  Here is a link to that:

  1. OUCH. It seems silly to buy all this equipment when a majority of hospitals and practices will already have the supplies in each room for you. Other than your trusty stethoscope that you don't want to share...

Any way you can split the cost with another student, or buy used?

  2. Can't really share them, because then who gets them in the end? I have heard that everyone ends up with a set at home later on after school, but I guess that could come in handy. You can buy used ones, so I guess some people sell them back. I have known a few offices where you stock your own exam rooms (not the tables or paper supplies, mainly just whatever kind of otoscope you wanna use, etc).

  3. Check out steeles.com- it's where I got our equipment. I'm not sure if it is cheaper.
